Co-Pastor Christina Dunbar
Co-Pastor Christina Dunbar was born and raised in New York City and is the daughter of Betty Wilson and the late Jesse Wilson. She is the fourth child out of six children.
She joined the United States Army in 1980 and has served in numerous places around the country and overseas. During her years in service, Co- Pastor Dunbar has made an impact in the lives of many soldiers and civilians alike. She loves taking care of people and encourages them to live out their full potential. She is currently retired from the United States Army after 20 successful years, and she is currently employed at Martin Army Community Hospital Fort Benning, GA as a Nurse. Co-Pastor Dunbar has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree in the study of Theology from Cornerstone Christian University (Florida).
Co-Pastor Dunbar received her first calling from God in 1993 as an Evangelist, where she served under Pastor Leroy Parham and Pastor James Hayes at Lily of the Valley Church Of God In Christ Fairbanks, Alaska. This was a training station under great leaderships!
Co-Pastor Dunbar has served in the many positions, including those of Finance Committee, Administrator, Pastoral Care Director, Youth Director, Choir member, Usher Board President, Nursing Unit President, Youth Sunday School Teacher, State Sunday School Field Worker, Home and Foreign Mission Teacher, Evangelism Team, and President of Young Women’s Christian Council.
She has been married over 34 years, to a prayer warrior Pastor James L. Dunbar, who is the Pastor and Founder of The Gathering Ministry Christian Center. In this union they have two children: Ebony Dunbar-Robinson (Carl) and Jamel Dunbar, and they have one Grandson, Jamir.
Her Motto is, “She looks for the good in everyone, because it doesn’t matter how you start out in life. What matters is how you finish your life. Your environment doesn’t determine who you are; you let your environment know who you are. Don’t despise small beginnings. When people say you can’t, “but God” can and will make it happen for you!" One of her favorite sayings is: “When Praises go up, Blessings and the Blesser comes down! God inhabits the praises of his people."
