Co-Pastor Christina Dunbar
Co-Pastor Christina Dunbar was born and raised in New York City and is the daughter of late Jesse and Betty Wilson. She is the fourth child out of six children. She graduated from Stevenson High School June 1978 and went to Bronx Community College for one year and six months. Being leaded by the holy spirit to join the United States Army. Supported by mother she enlisted in the United States Army Delayed Entry Program on June 7, 1979.
She enter the United State Army in February 1980 and has served in numerous places around the country and overseas. During her years in service, Co-Pastor Dunbar has connected with and infected the lives of many other soldiers and civilians directly, as well as indirectly. She is currently retired from the United State Army after twenty successful years and retired from Martin Army Community Hospital Fort Benning, Georgia as a Nurse. Co-Pastor Dunbar has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree in the study of Theology from Cornerstone Christian University Florida.
She received her calling to ministry from God in 1992 where she served under Pastor Leroy Parham and Pastor James Hayes at Lily of the Valley Church Of God In Christ Fairbank, Alaska. This was a training station!
Co-Pastor Dunbar has served in the position of Finance Committee, Administrator, Pastoral Care Director, Youth Director, Choir member, Praise team member, Usher Board President, Nursing Unit President, Youth Sunday School Teacher, State Sunday School Field Worker, Bible Band Teacher, Evangelism Team, and President of Young Women Willing Worker.
She has been married over 38 years to a praying warrior Pastor James L. Dunbar, who is the Pastor and Founder of The Gathering Ministry Christian Church. In this union they have two children: Ebony Dunbar-Robinson and Jamel Dunbar.
Her Motto is, “She looks for the good in everyone, because it doesn’t matter how you start out in life. What matter is how you finish your life?” Your environment doesn’t determent who you are; you let your environment know whom you are. Use your God given potential to the fullest. One of her favorite saying is: “When Praises go up, Blessing comes down!”
